Who We Are?

The Dallas Uyghur Community (DUC), a nonprofit organization established in 2022 by young Uyghur professionals, has become an essential hub for the Uyghur diaspora in Dallas. Originally launched to create a Uyghur Language School for children, DUC has since evolved into a beacon of cultural preservation, community support, and empowerment.

Over the past two years, DUC has broadened its mission to assist parents in passing on the Uyghur language and traditions to their children while providing adults with resources for career development, business networking, and mutual support. As Dallas continues to attract young Uyghur families, drawn by Texas’s thriving economy and affordable living, DUC has emerged as a crucial lifeline for newcomers, guiding them through their transition and fostering a welcoming community.

More than just a support network, DUC bridges the Uyghur community with the broader Dallas society. It promotes cultural exchange and integration while safeguarding and enriching Uyghur culture and language. DUC has been working hard to ensures that Uyghur people and its culture thrives in Dallas and contributes to both its community and the city at large.
